PARK CITY BAR ASSOCIATION MEETING
May 18, 2000

Members in Attendance:Wendy Faber, Christina Miller, Alex Natt and Dwayne Vance

1.Meeting called to order

2.Minutes from April 13, 2000 meeting reviewed and approved

3.Wendy noted that she would like to have the PC Bar website up and running by June

4.Discussion of Spring Social and election of officers for next year

a.Spring Social to be held on Thursday, June 22, 2000, at Lakota--if weather is nice we will have it on the deck; PC Bar will fork out $300-$400 for food, and there will be a no-host bar; Christina will have Angie from TT&V make arrangements with Lakota

b.Wendy will send a letter out to all members regarding the Spring Social, and soliciting nominations for officers next year (with Christina stepping into the office as President having been the Vice-President/President-Elect); prior to the Spring Social, the current officers will nominate a proposed slate of officers if necessary to provide for offices which received no nominations from the general membership

c.Judge Hilder and his spouse should be invited to the Spring Social; Christina will extend an invitation to him

5.Discussion of current list of members

a.Jean in Wendy's office likely has the most complete and current list

b.New members will be recruited, especially individuals who may be willing (or may be strong armed) into serving as officers

c.Annual dues will be kept at $25.00; PC Bar is still a part of the Utah State Bar mailer regarding dues

6.Discussion of 2000 in 2000 fundraising campaign for And Justice for All; Christina will send a letter out to all members regarding donations

7.Discussion of CLE's

a.Alex will set up a DUI brown bag CLE soon

b.Discussion of Capital Reef retreat August 10-12, 2000

i.Christina and Alex will get together in the next few weeks to work out details of CLE presentation at retreat; Herb ___________ from SUWA has been contacted and is willing to present and environmental law CLE, and another gentleman from DWR is also interested in participating; perhaps another CLE session on water law; hopefully two different CLE sessions

ii.Discussion of charges for retreat (nothing really finalized); Herb _____ will not charge for presenting the CLE, but a small donation to SUWA (especially to cover his costs in attending) would be appropriate

iii.Discussion of other activities at retreat--social, band, guided tour through Capital Reef with a ranger; Christina will follow-up

8.Discussion of Hispanic Outreach Night next Monday, 6-8 p.m.; Christina and Mike Katz will be there for sure, and interpreters will be there, anyone else is welcome and encouraged to attend

9.Discussion of July 4th Festivities

a.Christina will follow-up on ability to have dunking booth in the park; potential dunkees include Joe Tesch, Shauna Kerr, Bob Wheaton, Paul Sincock, Frank Bell

b.If we can do the dunking booth, then maybe have a parade entry (possibly something to promote the dunking booth)

10.Alex initiated a rousing round of applause for Christina congratulating her on being named the Distinguished Young Lawyer of the Year, and all joined in and genuflected appropriately

The meeting was thereafter adjourned.
