Election Results and Online Licensing
The Utah State Bar 2010 elections are now complete. Rodney G. Snow has been elected as our new President-elect. He will follow Rob Jeffs, who will take over as Bar president in July. Elected in the Third Division are Su Chon and John R. Lund. Felshaw King will continue to represent lawyers in the Second Division. We want to thank the fine lawyers who were willing to campaign and serve. We also want to thank all who voted and participated in the process

Orderville, UT— Orderville Mayor Merlin Esplin has appointed Judge Steven Richard Wallace, of Glendale, to fill a vacancy in the Orderville Justice Court. The position will replace Judge Gerry H. Hoyt who is retiring effective June 2010.

NOMINEES ANNOUNCED FOR EIGHTH DISTRICT COURT VACANCY
Vernal, UT--The 8th District Judicial Nominating Commission has selected five nominees for a vacancy on the 8th District Court bench. The position will replace Judge A. Lynn Payne who will retire July 1, 2010. The 8th Judicial District is comprised of Daggett, Duchesne, and Uintah counties.

The law firm of Parr Brown Gee & Loveless has named James A. Wright as a shareholder. He practices in the areas of construction and real estate law. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2005, and a B.A. , cum laude, from Brigham Young University in 2002.

Farmington, UT---The 2nd District Judicial Nominating Commission has scheduled a meeting for May 25 to select candidates to fill four vacancies for District Court Judge Jon Memmott who retired May 1, District Court Judge Pamela Heffernan who will retire June 1, Juvenile Court Judge L. Kent Bachman who will retire in August, and Judge Stephen A. Van Dkye who will also retire in August. The commission will meet at the Farmington Courthouse, 800 West State Street.

Salt Lake City, Utah—Applications are now being accepted for two upcoming vacancies on the 3rd District Court bench. The 3rd District includes Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties. The positions will replace Juvenile Court Judge Sharon McCully who has announced her retirement effective Sept. 1, 2010, and District Court Judge Michele Christiansen who has been appointed to the Utah Court of Appeals.
