He has served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States since 1991 and is the second African-American to serve on the Court, after Thurgood Marshall, whom he succeeded. Salt Lake City, UT—The Utah State Law Library is celebrating National Library Week April 11 through 17, with a book drive to benefit the Catholic Community Services’ Weigand Center.
The Weigand Center offers a broad range of services to the homeless, including showers, laundry facilities, haircuts, and a library. The center is in need of fiction and nonfiction books for adult readers, as well as magazines.
