Free CLE for Underemployed Lawyers
The Utah State Bar along and the Young Lawyers Division will co-sponsor a free workshop, “A New Lawyer ‘s Survival Guide” on Friday, April 9th for all unemployed and underemployed Utah lawyers. Given the current economic climate, the seminar will cover essential issues which will hopefully assist the unemployed lawyer to be more marketable. The seminar will focus on the art of networking, including a session planned to interact with volunteer practicing lawyers. This free CLE will also provide information on Utah job prospects, tips on opening your own practice, building a safety net in legal and practice management, and finding clients. Alternative practice areas such as contract work and limited representation will also be discussed. The workshop will be followed by “Lunch and Learn” brownbags, providing more details on the areas covered in the workshop. More information is available at http://www.utahbar.org/cle/events/new_lawyer_survival_guide.html. Thanks to Past-president Nate Alder for taking the lead in these efforts!
