Ogden Courthouse Clerk's Office and Entrance to Undergo Construction

Ogden, Utah—Construction has begun in the first floor clerk’s office of the Ogden Courthouse, which is located at 2525 Grant Ave. Construction on the building entrance will begin at a later date and will result in security enhancements to the courthouse entrances.

To accommodate the construction, a temporary clerk’s office has been set-up across the foyer of the courthouse. Construction is expected to take approx. 51 days. Once construction is completed, the clerk’s office counter stations—at which the public files court documents—will be expanded. The remodeled space will include ergonomic enhancements for the clerks and glass partitions for added security.

As part of the clerk’s office remodel, a new public information and viewing area will be created. The public access computers will be moved to this location and space will be added for the public to review hard copies of court records. Access to the public viewing area will be controlled by a security buzzer. During construction, public access computers have been moved to the third floor northwest waiting area.

Enhancements to the courthouse entrance will include the addition of glass partitions between the entrance and exit points to create separation between ingress and egress. In addition, all separation walls in the entrance area will be glass to allow for better visibility.

Construction is scheduled during the evenings and weekends to minimize delays; however, court users are encouraged to plan extra time when coming to the courthouse.

Scott P. Evans Architects has designed the security enhancements to complement the courthouse’s existing design. The contractor on the project is Dutson Builders.
