UTAH SUPREME COURT TO HEAR ORAL ARGUMENTS AT HISTORICAL COURTROOM AT THE STATE CAPITOL

WHAT: The Utah Supreme Court will hold court in the newly-renovated, historical Supreme Courtroom at the State Capitol. This is the first time the Supreme Court has held oral arguments in the courtroom since the Capitol Building has been renovated.

Cases to be heard are as follows:

9 a.m., Overstock v. Smartbargains, Case No. 20061149-SC
9:30 a.m., Peterson v. Kennard, Case No. 20070238-SC
10:30 a.m., SLC Mission v. Salt Lake City, Case no. 20060962-SC

WHEN: Wednesday, February 6, 2008, at 9:00 a.m. to approx. 12:00 p.m.
WHERE: Utah Supreme Courtroom, third floor, east wing, Utah State Capitol.

WHO: Utah Supreme Court Justices: Chief Justice Christine M. Durham, Associate Chief Justice Michael J. Wilkins, Justice Matthew B. Durrant, Justice Jill N. Parrish, and Justice Ronald E. Nehring.

PHOTOGRAPHY: One pool still photographer and one pool video camera will be permitted into the court session. To request to be the pool photographer, contact Public Information Officer Nancy Volmer at (801) 578-3994 by February 5 at noon.
