Sixth Annual YLD “Bar Sharks For Justice” Pool Tournament
Grand Opening of the Southern Utah Community Legal Center – September 28th
Please note September 28, 2007 for a day of events to celebrate the opening of the Southern Utah Community Legal Center (SUCLC). The SUCLC will be dedicated to serving the legal needs of the low income and disabled in the St. George area. The day begins at 8:00 am with a golf tournament at the Sky Mountain Golf Course. At 5:00 pm, join state and local dignitaries for a ribbon cutting event to celebrate the opening of the Southern Utah Community Legal Center at 229 East St. George Blvd, #103, St. George, Utah 84770. At 7:00 pm a dinner and silent auction hosted by the Southern Utah Bar Association will take place at the Dixie Center. Justice Nehring of the Utah Supreme Court will be the featured keynote speaker. Fall Forum – November 16, 2007, Salt Palace Convention Center
The 2007 Fall Forum - https://utahbar.org/cle/fallforum/registration.html, continues with its successful formula for providing value to Utah’s legal community. With excellent keynote presenters, Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. on Utah Economic Development and Forrest Mosten on Unbundling Legal Services, and 6 different tracks for breakout sessions, every lawyer and paralegal will find something useful here. Due to the popularity of this annual event, it has been moved to the Salt Palace to better accommodate the growing audience. This year the program includes 7 hours of CLE and NLCLE with up to 4 hours of ethics programs. Register before November 2, and receive $30 off the normal price. Fall Forum Award Nominations Sought
The Board of Bar Commissioners is seeking nominations for the 2007 Fall Forum Awards. These awards have a long history of honoring publicly those whose professionalism, public service and personal dedication have significantly enhanced the administration of justice, the delivery of legal services and the building up of the profession. As we move into the CLE end-of-year compliance countdown starting in September, there are a number of great programs coming up that will put you ahead of the curve. Sixth Annual YLD “Bar Sharks For Justice” Pool Tournament
Coming up on October 10th and 17th is the Young Lawyers Division’s Sixth Annual “Bar Sharks For Justice” Pool Tournament. Like last year, this will be held at Lumpy’s Downtown at 145 Pierpont Ave in Salt Lake City. Lumpy’s is a private club, so you must be 21 or older to attend. Membership fees are waived for all our guests. "Bar Sharks for Justice" also serves as a social and networking event. If you are not on a team, come cheer on your favorite players and meet other young (and not so young) members of the legal community while contributing to a great cause.
