Judicial Vacancy in the Third Judicial District

JUDICIAL VACANCY

Announcing:
That applications are now being accepted for two positions of judge in the Third Judicial District. (Counties include Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele).

This position results from the announcement of the retirements of Judges Timothy R. Hanson and J. Dennis Frederick.

Completed application forms must be received by the Administrative Office of the Courts no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 3, 2006

To Obtain Application Forms and Instructions:

Copies of forms required in the application process and instructions are available from the Administrative Office of the Courts. Forms and instructions also are available in following word processing formats:

WordPerfect 5.x/6.x; MSWord 5.x/6.x. and on the Court Web Site in the following format Word Perfect 6.0/6.1 MSWord 6.0/7.0

Constitutional Requirements for Judicial Office:

The applicant must be at least 25 years of age, a United States citizen, a resident of Utah for at least 3 years immediately prior to appointment, and admitted to practice law in Utah. Also, to qualify as a judge of the district or juvenile court, the applicant must reside or be willing to relocate within the geographic district for that court.
