MASS. CHIEF JUSTICE MARSHALL TO SPEAK MARCH 30

At 7 PM on March 30, Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall will deliver the 2006 Tanner Lecture on Human Values, at the A. Ray Olpin Union Ballroom, on the University of Utah campus. All Tanner Lecture events are free and open to the public.

The lecture title is: "Tension and Intention: The American Constitutions and the Shaping of Democracies Abroad"

Margaret H. Marshall is Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts. Justice Marshall attracted national attention by writing the majority opinion in the case that led Massachusetts to become the first state to recognize same-sex marriage. Her professional and personal experiences have given her unique insight on human rights and how the justice system works here and around the world.

In association with the lecture the events schedule will include 3 panel discussions featuring other distinguished guests. All the panels will be presented in the Alumni House, 155 S Central Campus Dr., University of Utah during the day on Thursday, March 30 and Friday, March 31.
