Countdown to Spring Convention

The 2006 Spring Convention is less than five weeks away and promises to be a value-packed event for lawyers and their families. The keynote speaker is Chief Justice Christine Durham speaking on "The Legal Profession and the Administration of Justice: 100 Years Since the Pound Conference." Breakout session include tracks on Litigation, Transactional, Technology, New Lawyer and other general topics. Fun events include the Kids Fiesta Fun Activity, along with a golf clinic and the popular golf tournament, held at the Sunbrook Golf Course. Casemaker Update – Kansas Joins

This week the Kansas Bar Association joined the Casemaker Consortium. Casemaker is a free online legal research service, available to all active licensed members of the Utah State Bar. With Kansas joining, this will bring the total to 25 state libraries available in the system. To log on to the Casemaker service and to access other bar services, go to: www.utahbar.org/casemaker/Welcome.html. If you need to obtain your Login and Password, please send a request to onlineservices@utahbar.org.

Paralegal Division - 10th Anniversary in April

Coming up on April 6, 2006 the Paralegal Division will be celebrating its 10th Anniversary with an evening event in the Tower at Rice Eccles Stadium in the Scholarship Reception room. Watch for more information about this exciting event in the coming weeks.

Wireless Internet Access Available at the Bar

The Utah State Bar, in cooperation with Xmission, Utah’s Largest Internet Service Provider, now has free wireless Internet access available at the Utah Law & Justice Center. The next time you are at the Bar Offices and have a wireless device, you can easily access the connection and the Internet.
