Description:
Reporting to the CFO, this person will provide contract, corporate administrative and paralegal support. Candidates require the following skills and will perform the following duties:
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with others as he/she will serve as a key interface and will ensure the proper and efficient flow of information and correspondence between the company and outside counsel.
• Update and maintain the docket and files for our patent portfolio, and approve and track payment of all patent annuity and maintenance fees.
• Review all outside counsel bills and arrange for payment, while tracking charges against budget.
• Review all marketing collateral for appropriate trademark attribution and may conduct trademark searches as necessary.
• Assist with secretarial functions such as correspondence, filing, organization and general paperwork, with minimal or no supervision.
• Produce documents from notes and/or a draft; and access, input and retrieve information from a computer utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and graphics applications.
• Extremely flexible, assertive and self motivated.
• Organizational skills are essential as this person must be able to prioritize individual responsibilities and activities, perform well under pressure and concurrently coordinate and/or complete multiple projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent, plus 1 to 2 years of law firm experience. General legal knowledge and research experience. Knowledge of and ability to use the internet, MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of contract, patent and trademark processes, and general corporate procedures. Knowledge of and ability to use Hot Docs document assembly software.
