Nature’s Sunshine Products, Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of encapsulated herbs and vitamins is in search of an experienced attorney to fill the position of Corporate Counsel.
This position performs the following types of duties under the direction of the General Counsel: responsible for domestic and international legal affairs, including contract development and review, transactions, support of new markets, and finance related activities; support of Company’s compliance program, including Sarbanes-Oxley and FCPA compliance; responsible to educate and advise managers and distributors of NSP on legal aspects of their business; provides legal review of marketing publications, other sales information and legal correspondence; responsible generally for oversight of the Company’s IP activity, including trademarks, copyrights, and patent applications; responsible to prepare the Company for FDA, FTC, and other regulatory inspections and communications, and their follow-up; supports litigation and other dispute resolution activities; responsible for compliance with subpoenas and other formal requests for Company information; supports SEC compliance efforts and filings; addresses legal aspects of employment and benefits issues; performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE: Broad legal/business knowledge and experience, particularly in contracts, transactional, finance, and international. Experience with corporate compliance programs also helpful.
SKILL: Highly developed legal, analytical, and leadership skills obtained through hands-on experience in an applicable setting.
ABILITY: Proven ability to deal effectively at the highest corporate levels and to provide counsel and support to a variety of business groups. Ability to develop and communicate solutions effectively.
EDUCATION: Juris Doctorate degree plus 4-8 years of relevant corporate experience. Corporate in-house experience preferred. Direct selling/MLM experience preferred, but not required.
