The materials for this CLE will be the recently published evidence treatise: Mangrum and Benson on Utah Evidence 2009-10. The seminar will highlight recently decided evidentiary cases, controversial evidentiary issues, and professionalism and civility in the trial context. The seminar will also explain how to use the evidentiary treatise to reduce research hours, to prepare foundation for all forms of evidence, and to present coherent evidentiary argument to the court at the time of trial. The seminar will also provide a forum for discussion by any participant of any difficult evidentiary issue that has not been coherently resolved by the courts and should be considered for inclusion in the text for the future.
The seminar includes six and one-half hours of CLE credit, including one hour of professionalism and civility.
