Utah Trial Lawyer of the Year

The Utah Trial Lawyer of the Year Award was presented posthumously at the Utah State Bar Annual Meeting to Salt Lake lawyer H. James Clegg. The award is presented every year by the Utah Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, in conjunction with the Utah State Bar Annual Meeting, which was held in San Diego.

The award is presented annually to a Utah lawyer who represents the highest qualities of skill and professionalism. Mr. Clegg was a member of the Salt Lake based law firm Snow, Christensen & Martineau until his unexpected death earlier this year. He distinguished himself in products liability matters and the defense of drug and automobile manufacturers. He served as President of the Salt Lake County Bar Association, Commissioner and President of the Utah State Bar, and Trustee and President of the Utah Bar Foundation. He was also a member of the Wyoming State Bar, and was a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and served as Utah State Chairman.
